GCS expands the fleet of own flat-cars

GCS has ordered 224 x 80’-long flat-cars for transportation of containers. The order has been placed at “TMH Wagon-construction” plant belonging to the Trans-Mash holding. Delivery of the first 32 flat-cars is expected by the mid of April 2012.

The newly ordered flat-cars are planned to be deployed in block-trains run by the mutli-modal operator Ruscon being part of the GCS group. At the moment Ruscon already operates several regular intermodal services from the port of Novorossiysk to various main destinations in the European part of Russia, including Moscow.

Expanding own wagon fleet will be coupled with growing cooperation with third-party owners. In the nearest plans of GCS is to increase the number of long-term leased flat-cars operated by Ruscon to over 450 units.
