RUSCON bought a container terminal in Novorossiysk

The purchase is
made within the frames of realization of long-term strategy aiming the
integration of operator and terminal businesses of the Group.

«Since the second half of this
year according to the contract of operation lease our company used the terminal
for acceptance and delivery of container trains. Acquisition of ownership will
let the Group integrate this active more effectively into existing terminal
complex RUSCON in Novorossiysk, raise the company’s flexibility dealing with
container trains. Being close to the port

and both highly developed railway
infrastructure and warehouse complex will provide the clients with proposition of
new functionality for import and export freight traffic, lay the groundwork for
optimization of time limits and cost of delivery», - points out Andrey
Chernyshev, vice-president of sales in RUSCON.

The area of the terminal is
6,5 ha. The complex includes a container yard with capacity of simultaneous
storage of 2 000 TEU and throughput of 30 000 TEU per year, storages
with the total area of 7 000 square meters, including reefer storages with
the area of 2 500 square meters, and its own railway tracks 1,9 kilometers
in length. The terminal is situated 5 kilometers away from the port of Novorossiysk
conveniently adjoining the driveways of the railway station and being in close
proximity to the federal highway M-4 «Don».
