Maersk extends Ecumed service to Izmir

By November, Maersk Line will add Izmir (Turkey Aegean) to the itinerary of its West Coast South America‐Black Sea Ecumed service, while at the same time  it will increase deployment by one unit to ten reefer‐ heavy vessels of around 3,000 TEU. Originally designed as banana-dedicated service Ecumed was launched in September 2011 and is  currently the sole not Far East‐oriented deepsea service entering the Black Sea, calling Yuzhny and No‐ vorossiysk. Other ports served in Turkey are the  Marmara outlets of Istanbul (Evyap and Ambarli).
