Hapag-Lloyd is starting calls at the ULCT
19 June 2013The second lady deployed on the service is m/v Amerdijk, capacity of each – about 1000 TEU. Full rotation of the service thus will be: Bremerhaven – Ust-Luga – Saint-Petersburg – Kotka – Ruma – Havle – Hamburg – Bremerhaven. Throughput of Hapag Lloyd via St.Petersburg in the first quarter of 2013 amounted to 17 thousand TEU. The liner have been offering calls at the FCT and PLP terminals.
It must be noted that ULCT is currently expanding mainly based on demand from the Automotive sector. 18.06.2013 the terminal dispatched its first block-train with 78 containers with Volkswagen assembly parts to Nizhniy Novgorod. From July the ULCT plans to increase frequency of these trains of VW to two-three a month. From November last year the ULCT has also been handlings block-trains for GM factory in Nizhniy Novgorod too. Till the moment more than 2760 containers or fifty trains with GM’s car assembly parts were shipped in this direction. The models shipped via ULCT are Chevrolet Aveo and Volkswagen Jetta.
The total throughput of the ULCT in the five months of 2013 was 14 008 TEU, the plan for June 2013 is about 6 000. TEU, the total plan for 2013 is 60 000 TEU.
